Key Responsibilities
- Participate in comprehensive training programs to acquire a Commercial Driver's License (CDL), if not already held.
- Operate commercial motor vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all federal, state, and company regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, documenting any issues.
- Transport freight between FedEx Freight facilities or to customer locations.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods, maintaining communication with dispatch.
- Maintain accurate driving logs and records.
- Follow all safety protocols, including hazardous material handling and securement procedures.
- Represent FedEx Freight professionally in all interactions.
Required Skills
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Legal right to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a labor-intensive role or a physically demanding job.
- Basic mechanical knowledge or interest in vehicle maintenance.
- Familiarity with local Raleigh/North Carolina routes and geography.
