Job Description
We are seeking an exceptionally talented and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at The Ivy Montpellier Brasserie. The Head Chef will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation. This role requires a creative leader with a strong understanding of modern British and European cuisine, a commitment to developing a high-performing team, and a keen eye for operational efficiency and profitability. You will be instrumental in maintaining our esteemed reputation and enhancing the dining experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, ensuring adherence to The Ivy Collection's rigorous standards.
- Develop and refine menus, introducing innovative dishes while maintaining the essence of our culinary offerings.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of talented chefs, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Oversee inventory management, ordering, and stock rotation to minimize waste and control costs.
- Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations (HACCP).
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and consistency across all shifts.
- Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to achieve financial targets and operational excellence.
- Manage kitchen budgets, including food and labor costs.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing training for kitchen staff.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Sous Chef in a high-volume, premium restaurant or hotel environment.
- Extensive knowledge of modern British and European cuisine, with a creative flair.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire.
- Exceptional culinary technique and palate.
- In-depth understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
