Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and vigilant Trainee Port Security Officer to join our team at a critical government facility in Boulder, CO. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals eager to start a career in security, providing comprehensive training and development. As a Trainee, you will work under the guidance of experienced officers, learning the protocols and procedures essential for maintaining port security, monitoring access points, and responding to incidents in a government regulated environment. This role requires dedication, attention to detail, and a commitment to public safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior officers in conducting routine patrols and inspections of the facility perimeter and grounds.
  • Learn and apply access control procedures for personnel, vehicles, and cargo entering and exiting the port.
  • Monitor surveillance systems and report any suspicious activities or security breaches.
  • Respond to non-emergency incidents and support emergency response teams as directed.
  • Conduct basic threat assessments and maintain detailed logs of daily activities and observations.
  • Adhere strictly to all governmental regulations and company security policies.
  • Participate actively in all required training programs and drills.

Required Skills

  • Ability to obtain and maintain relevant security clearances.
  • Excellent observation and communication skills.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Strong ethical character and integrity.
  • Physical ability to perform duties, including standing, walking, and potentially lifting.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in customer service or a public-facing role.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Prior military or law enforcement experience (entry-level consideration).
