Job Description
We are seeking a highly professional and vigilant Door Supervisor to join our team in the dynamic Canary Wharf area of London. As a Door Supervisor, you will be a crucial front-line representative, responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patrons and staff within various establishments. Your primary duties will include access control, conflict resolution, emergency response, and ensuring compliance with licensing laws. This role demands excellent communication skills, a calm demeanor under pressure, and a strong commitment to customer service and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Control access and egress of patrons, ensuring only authorised individuals enter the premises.
- Monitor premises for suspicious activity or potential security threats.
- Effectively de-escalate and resolve conflicts or challenging situations with diplomacy and professionalism.
- Conduct searches (where applicable and legally permitted) to prevent prohibited items from entering the venue.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, including medical incidents, fire alarms, and security breaches.
- Work collaboratively with venue management, local authorities, and emergency services.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and complete detailed reports.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing objectives and company policies.
- Provide a visible security presence and excellent customer service to patrons.
- Assist with crowd management and queue control.
Required Skills
- SIA Door Supervisor Licence (current and valid)
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
- Strong observation and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of relevant security procedures and licensing laws
- Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and respond to incidents
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid at Work certification
- Conflict Management training
- Experience working in busy hospitality or event environments
- Basic IT skills for reporting and communication
