Job Description

Tesco in Fareham is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as a Cashier / Customer Service Assistant. No prior experience is needed, as we provide full training to help you succeed! Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using our till systems.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering queries and assisting shoppers with a friendly and helpful attitude.
- Handle cash, card, and other payment methods responsibly.
- Ensure your checkout area is clean, tidy, and well-stocked with bags and other essentials.
- Help customers locate products and resolve any issues or complaints with empathy and professionalism.
- Assist with store operations as needed, including shelf tidying and stock rotation.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially those related to age-restricted sales and security.
Required Skills
- A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual.
- A genuine desire to help customers and provide a great shopping experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role (beneficial, but not essential).
