Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Billing Coordinator with an administrative focus to join our team in Aurora, Colorado. Key Responsibilities
- Process and submit pharmacy claims to various insurance providers accurately and in a timely manner.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits for pharmacy services.
- Resolve billing discrepancies, denials, and rejections by communicating with insurance companies and patients.
- Maintain precise records of all billing activities, including claims submitted, payments received, and adjustments made.
- Assist patients with billing inquiries, payment arrangements, and understanding their pharmacy benefits.
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff to ensure proper documentation for billing purposes.
- Stay updated on changes in insurance regulations, coding, and billing practices relevant to pharmacy services.
- Generate financial reports related to pharmacy billing and revenue cycles.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and company privacy policies when handling patient information.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of administrative or office experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of medical/pharmacy terminology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a related field (e.g., healthcare administration, business).
- Previous experience in pharmacy billing, medical billing, or a healthcare administrative role.
- Familiarity with pharmacy management software or electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of insurance claim submission processes (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance).
- Certification in medical billing or coding (e.g., CPC, CPB).
