Job Description
Are you ready to play a critical role in national security and ensure the safety of millions of travellers? Heathrow Airport Limited, a leading aviation hub, is seeking dedicated and vigilant Aviation Security Screeners to join our team with an immediate start. In this vital role, you will be on the front lines, responsible for conducting comprehensive security checks on passengers, their baggage, and cargo, utilizing advanced screening technologies and meticulous manual inspection techniques. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor security screening equipment, including X-ray machines, body scanners, and metal detectors, to detect prohibited items.
- Conduct thorough manual searches of passengers and their carry-on/checked baggage in accordance with strict regulatory procedures.
- Verify passenger identification and boarding passes, ensuring all documentation is valid.
- Respond effectively to security alerts and alarms, escalating incidents to supervisory staff as required.
- Provide clear, concise, and professional instructions to passengers during the screening process, ensuring a positive experience.
- Maintain a high level of situational awareness, observing and reporting any suspicious activities or items.
- Adhere strictly to all aviation security regulations, company policies, and health and safety guidelines.
- Complete detailed reports on security incidents and screening activities.
Required Skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain relevant security clearances and passes (requires a clean criminal record history).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong observational skills.
- Effective verbal communication skills to interact clearly and courteously with diverse groups of people.
