Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Commercial Plumber / Pipefitter to join our dynamic team in Barrow-in-Furness. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex plumbing and pipefitting systems, ensuring all work adheres to the highest safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair commercial and industrial plumbing systems, including pipework, fittings, and fixtures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine layouts and specifications.
- Fabricate, assemble, and install various types of pipes and pipe supports (e.g., copper, steel, PVC, PEX) using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Perform pressure tests and leak detection to ensure system integrity.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose plumbing issues, performing corrective actions efficiently.
- Collaborate with other trades and project teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members when required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Commercial Plumber or Pipefitter.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Expertise in various pipe joining methods (welding, soldering, threading, solvent cementing).
- In-depth knowledge of commercial plumbing codes and safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced construction environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant professional certifications or licenses (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing/Pipefitting, CSCS card).
- Experience with industrial plant environments or large-scale commercial projects.
- First Aid certification.
- Forklift or relevant heavy equipment operation certification.
