Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Commercial Plumber / Pipefitter to join our dynamic team in Barrow-in-Furness. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced professionals looking for international sponsorship to work on significant industrial and commercial projects. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex plumbing and pipefitting systems, ensuring all work adheres to the highest safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair commercial and industrial plumbing systems, including pipework, fittings, and fixtures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine layouts and specifications.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and install various types of pipes and pipe supports (e.g., copper, steel, PVC, PEX) using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Perform pressure tests and leak detection to ensure system integrity.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose plumbing issues, performing corrective actions efficiently.
  • Collaborate with other trades and project teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members when required.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Plumber or Pipefitter.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Expertise in various pipe joining methods (welding, soldering, threading, solvent cementing).
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial plumbing codes and safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced construction environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant professional certifications or licenses (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing/Pipefitting, CSCS card).
  • Experience with industrial plant environments or large-scale commercial projects.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Forklift or relevant heavy equipment operation certification.
