Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Glazier / Window Installer to join our growing team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced professionals looking to build a career in Canada, with full international sponsorship provided. As a Glazier, you will be responsible for cutting, installing, and repairing glass and window components in residential, commercial, and institutional settings. You will work with a variety of materials and tools, ensuring precise measurements, safe handling, and high-quality finishes. Key Responsibilities
- Measure and mark dimensions and outlines on glass using rules, straightedges, and cutting gauges.
- Cut glass and other glazing materials to specified size and shape.
- Install pre-assembled wood or metal sashes or frames for windows and doors.
- Assemble and install architectural glass products such as curtain walls, storefronts, and skylights.
- Install, fit, and attach pre-cut glass, mirrors, and other glass products into frames and other fixtures.
- Position and secure glass panels into frames or openings with clips, moldings, or other types of fasteners.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements.
- Repair and replace broken glass in windows, doors, and other structures.
- Apply weather sealants, caulking, and other finishing materials.
- Ensure all installations meet company standards and local building codes.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Glazier, Window Installer, or similar role.
- Proficiency in measuring, cutting, and installing various types of glass and glazing materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and practices in construction environments.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a Glazier apprenticeship program or relevant vocational training.
- Certification in construction safety.
- Experience with specialized glazing equipment and techniques.
- Knowledge of Canadian building codes and standards for glass installation.
