Job Description

Are you a recent science graduate or an aspiring analytical chemist eager to launch your career in a dynamic laboratory environment? Eurofins Scientific is seeking a highly motivated Junior Analytical Chemist to join our team in Katy, TX. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity where comprehensive training on state-of-the-art analytical techniques, including High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS), will be provided. You will play a crucial role in performing routine analyses, supporting method development, and ensuring the integrity of our data. Key Responsibilities

  • Undergo comprehensive training on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of HPLC and GC-MS instrumentation.
  • Execute routine analytical tests on various samples following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Prepare samples, reagents, and standards with precision and accuracy.
  • Record, interpret, and report analytical data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform basic instrument calibration and quality control checks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory workspace.
  • Collaborate with senior chemists and team members to support ongoing projects and method development initiatives.
  • Adhere strictly to all laboratory safety protocols, quality assurance guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in laboratory meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related scientific field.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of general chemistry principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions accurately.
  • Basic laboratory skills, including pipetting, weighing, and solution preparation.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a willingness to learn new techniques.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a laboratory setting (academic or industrial).
  • Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) or ISO 17025 standards.
  • Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
