Job Description
Are you a skilled fitter with an eye for detail and a passion for craftsmanship? IKEA is looking for a dedicated Kitchen Door Fitter to join our Manchester team. In this pivotal role, you will be the final touch in our customers’ kitchen projects, meticulously installing cabinet doors, drawers, and panels to achieve that perfect, seamless finish. This is an on-site role that requires precision, excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently to deliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately install IKEA kitchen cabinet doors, drawer fronts, and decorative panels according to design plans and IKEA installation guidelines.
- Perform necessary adjustments to ensure perfect alignment, spacing, and functionality of all fitted elements.
- Conduct final quality checks to ensure all fittings are secure, aesthetically pleasing, and meet IKEA's high standards.
- Communicate effectively with customers, providing updates on progress and addressing any concerns professionally.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring minimal disruption to the customer's home.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any fitting issues that may arise during installation.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Complete job reports and documentation accurately and on time.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in kitchen fitting, carpentry, or a related trade.
- Demonstrable precision and attention to detail in previous work.
- Proficient in using a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation manuals.
- Physical fitness to lift and move kitchen components and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Specific experience with IKEA kitchen systems (METOD/SEKTION) installations.
- Relevant trade qualification or certification.
- Valid UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) or equivalent.
- First Aid certification.
