Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable High School Gym Floor Host to support our community programs. In this part-time role, you will be the welcoming face for participants, ensuring a safe, clean, and organized environment within the high school gymnasium. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy interacting with people, have a passion for sports and fitness, and value contributing to a positive community atmosphere. This is an on-site position.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome all gym users with a positive and friendly attitude.
- Monitor gym floor activities to ensure compliance with safety rules and facility policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the gym floor, including equipment setup and breakdown.
- Assist with participant check-in and program registration as needed.
- Provide basic information about facility offerings and schedules.
- Respond to inquiries and address minor issues, escalating as necessary.
- Ensure all equipment is properly stored and maintained after use.
- Promote a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants.
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to enforce rules and policies respectfully and consistently.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic first aid knowledge or willingness to be trained.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to lift and move light to moderately heavy equipment (e.g., sports balls, cones).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or recreational setting.
- Passion for sports, fitness, or youth development.
- CPR/AED certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
