Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Salad Mixing & Bagging Operative to join our production team in Stevenage. This is a critical role within our chilled food preparation facility, focusing on the precise mixing of various salad ingredients and the operation of bagging machinery. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment, ensuring all products meet our rigorous quality and food safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately measure and mix a variety of salad ingredients according to specific recipes and production schedules.
- Operate and monitor automated bagging machinery, ensuring correct settings and efficient output.
- Perform regular quality checks on raw materials and finished products, identifying and reporting any discrepancies.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the workstation and surrounding production areas.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety regulations, health and safety policies, and company procedures.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily production targets and deadlines.
- Assist with inventory management, ensuring ingredients are readily available and properly stored.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report major faults to maintenance promptly.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the production process.
Required Skills
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for following instructions and record-keeping.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing or production role.
- Prior experience operating production machinery.
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 1 or 2).
- Understanding of HACCP principles.
- Experience working in a temperature-controlled or chilled environment.
