Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Project Manager to join our dynamic team in York. As a Technical Project Manager at Capgemini, you will be instrumental in leading complex technical projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and meeting client expectations. You will be responsible for defining project scope, goals, and deliverables, as well as managing project resources, timelines, and risks. This role requires a strong understanding of technical concepts, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of successful project management in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and closing of complex technical projects.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and senior management.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Manage project teams, ensuring clear communication, task assignment, and performance monitoring.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing effective contingency plans.
- Monitor and report on project progress to all stakeholders, providing regular updates on status, risks, and changes.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Facilitate technical discussions and decision-making processes within the project team.
- Manage client expectations and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct post-project reviews to evaluate project success and identify areas for improvement.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager in a technology-focused environment.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Experience with budget management and resource planning.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification (e.g., CSM, SAFe).
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) or specific industry domains relevant to Capgemini's clients.
- Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks like ITIL.
