Job Description

Join our dedicated two-person assembly team as a Large Furniture Assembly Aide! At IKEA, we believe in making home furnishing accessible and convenient. As part of our in-home services team, you will be responsible for expertly assembling a wide range of IKEA furniture in customers’ homes and commercial spaces across Vancouver. This role requires strong teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. You will be provided with the necessary tools, training, and support to excel in this physically active and rewarding role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport and assemble large furniture items (e.g., wardrobes, beds, cabinets, complex shelving units) in customers' homes and commercial locations.
  • Work efficiently and collaboratively as part of a two-person team to meet daily assembly targets and schedules.
  • Read and interpret assembly instructions, diagrams, and product manuals accurately.
  • Ensure all assembled furniture meets IKEA quality standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment at customer sites.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Report any product defects or issues to the team lead.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to use basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record (for team transportation).
  • Ability to work effectively in a two-person team environment.
  • Customer-service oriented with good communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in furniture assembly, carpentry, or a related trade.
  • Familiarity with IKEA products and assembly systems.
  • Comfortable navigating various residential and commercial settings.
  • Basic knowledge of English and French (Canada context).
