Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Commercial Jet Washer to join our heavy industrial team in Edmonton. This high-paying position involves the thorough cleaning of large commercial jets and other heavy industrial equipment, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and operational readiness. You will be responsible for operating specialized high-pressure washing equipment, utilizing appropriate cleaning agents, and adhering strictly to safety protocols. This role is critical to maintaining the integrity and appearance of valuable assets in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate high-pressure washing equipment and other specialized cleaning tools for commercial jets and heavy industrial machinery.
- Apply appropriate cleaning solutions and detergents, ensuring effective removal of dirt, grime, and other contaminants.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and chemical handling procedures.
- Inspect aircraft and equipment before and after cleaning to ensure quality standards are met.
- Work efficiently as part of a team to meet project deadlines and operational schedules.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of washing equipment.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to work safely and effectively in a heavy industrial environment.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform demanding tasks, including standing, bending, lifting, and working at heights.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of industrial safety practices.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with commercial or industrial high-pressure washing.
- Experience working with aircraft or heavy machinery.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving abstract.
- Certification in WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System).
- Familiarity with various cleaning chemicals and their safe application.
