Job Description
Join the Tesco team as a Shelf Stacker in Headington, Oxford! We are seeking motivated and reliable individuals for immediate hire, offering both night and day shifts to fit your schedule. As a Shelf Stacker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our store is well-stocked, tidy, and ready for our customers. This is a hands-on position requiring attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of store presentation. Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently replenish shelves and displays with new stock upon delivery
- Organize products according to store planograms and ensure correct pricing is displayed
- Rotate stock to ensure older products are sold first, minimizing waste
- Check for and remove any damaged or expired products from shelves
- Maintain a clean and organized stockroom and sales floor throughout your shift
- Assist customers with product location or general inquiries when needed
- Operate manual handling equipment safely and responsibly (e.g., pallet jacks)
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in stock placement
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail or warehouse environment is a plus, but not essential
- Basic understanding of inventory management principles
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays
