Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and dedicated Hospital Cleaner (Environmental Services) to join our team at Hôtel-Dieu de Lévis. In this full-time role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and safety of our hospital premises. Your work directly contributes to infection control, patient recovery, and the overall positive experience of patients, visitors, and staff. Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitization of patient rooms, common areas, offices, and clinical spaces, adhering to strict hospital protocols.
- Empty and dispose of waste, including hazardous waste, following established guidelines and safety procedures.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, ensuring a hygienic and well-stocked environment.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment suchately and safely.
- Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and hand sanitizer.
- Respond promptly to spills and other cleaning emergencies.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor while interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.
Required Skills
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English or French.
- Strong attention to detail and a thorough approach to cleaning tasks.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform duties requiring bending, lifting (up to 25 lbs), standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Knowledge of basic cleaning techniques and safety procedures.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in cleaning or environmental services, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) regulations.
- Basic understanding of infection control practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
