Job Description
Join Doncaster College and University Centre as a Bilingual & ESL Education Intern and gain invaluable experience in a dynamic educational setting. This internship offers a unique opportunity to support our diverse student body, particularly those for whom English is an additional language, and to contribute to creating an inclusive learning environment. You will work closely with experienced educators, assisting in various capacities to enhance the academic success and integration of bilingual and ESL students. Key Responsibilities
- Assist ESL instructors in classroom activities, including lesson preparation and material development.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to bilingual and ESL students, focusing on language acquisition and academic skills.
- Help organize and facilitate workshops, cultural events, and support groups for international and ESL students.
- Translate educational materials or communications as needed, utilizing your bilingual proficiency.
- Support student onboarding and orientation processes, helping new students adapt to college life.
- Contribute to the development of resources aimed at improving ESL student engagement and success.
- Participate in departmental meetings and professional development sessions.
Required Skills
- Fluency in English and at least one other language.
