Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Production Supervisor to join our manufacturing facility in Sidcup, Bexley. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily production operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met. This role is crucial in driving continuous improvement initiatives and fostering a high-performance team culture. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise daily production activities to meet output targets and deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards (e.g., ISO, HACCP), and company policies.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of production operators, including performance management and training.
  • Monitor production schedules, material flow, and equipment performance to identify and resolve issues.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen).
  • Conduct regular inspections of work areas to maintain cleanliness and organization.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, quality control, and logistics departments to optimize production processes.
  • Prepare daily production reports and analyze data to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Troubleshoot operational problems and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a production supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Certification in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma.
  • First Aid and/or IOSH Managing Safely certification.
