Job Description
Are you an experienced Class A CDL driver looking for consistent, premium weekend work? FedEx Freight in Carmel, Indiana, is seeking dedicated Weekend Warrior Truckers to handle critical Saturday and Sunday routes. This role offers highly competitive pay rates for weekend shifts, ensuring you maximize your earning potential while maintaining a healthy work-life balance during the week. You’ll be responsible for safe and timely transport of freight, primarily local or regional, utilizing our modern fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle primarily on Saturday and Sunday shifts.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment, documenting any issues.
- Transport freight between service centers and customer locations, adhering to delivery schedules.
- Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate logs and complete required paperwork efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members.
- Secure freight properly to prevent damage during transit.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable Class A CDL driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull freight as required (up to 50 lbs regularly).
Preferred Qualifications
- Hazardous Materials (HazMat) endorsement.
- Experience with LTL freight operations.
- Forklift or pallet jack experience.
- Familiarity with local and regional routes in the Indiana area.
