Job Description
Join Kaiser Permanente as a Creative Arts Therapist, playing a vital role in our Mental Health Clinic in Antioch, CA. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize various artistic modalities to support the mental and emotional well-being of our diverse patient population. You will work within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, providing therapeutic interventions that cater to individual and group needs. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement individualized and group creative arts therapy programs.
- Conduct assessments to determine patient needs and therapeutic goals.
- Facilitate therapy sessions using art, music, drama, movement, or other creative modalities.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
- Participate in clinical team meetings and case conferences.
- Educate patients and families about the benefits of creative arts therapy.
- Adhere to professional ethical standards and state licensure requirements.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Creative Arts Therapy (Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Drama Therapy, Dance/Movement Therapy).
- Board Certification or eligibility for Board Certification in a creative arts therapy discipline (e.g., ATR-BC, MT-BC, R-DMT, RDT).
- California licensure or ability to obtain California licensure (e.g., LMFT, LPCC with specific arts therapy training).
- Minimum 2 years of post-graduate clinical experience in a mental health setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an integrated healthcare system.
- Specialization in trauma-informed care or specific population groups (e.g., adolescents, seniors).
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish, Tagalog).
- Advanced training or certification in additional therapeutic modalities.
