Job Description

Join Kaiser Permanente as a Creative Arts Therapist, playing a vital role in our Mental Health Clinic in Antioch, CA. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement individualized and group creative arts therapy programs.
  • Conduct assessments to determine patient needs and therapeutic goals.
  • Facilitate therapy sessions using art, music, drama, movement, or other creative modalities.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
  • Participate in clinical team meetings and case conferences.
  • Educate patients and families about the benefits of creative arts therapy.
  • Adhere to professional ethical standards and state licensure requirements.

Required Skills

  • Master's degree in Creative Arts Therapy (Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Drama Therapy, Dance/Movement Therapy).
  • Board Certification or eligibility for Board Certification in a creative arts therapy discipline (e.g., ATR-BC, MT-BC, R-DMT, RDT).
  • California licensure or ability to obtain California licensure (e.g., LMFT, LPCC with specific arts therapy training).
  • Minimum 2 years of post-graduate clinical experience in a mental health setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an integrated healthcare system.
  • Specialization in trauma-informed care or specific population groups (e.g., adolescents, seniors).
  • Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish, Tagalog).
  • Advanced training or certification in additional therapeutic modalities.
