Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Virtual Legal Aide to join our Public Defender’s Office team. This is a 100% remote position, offering the flexibility to work from home while contributing to crucial legal defense services. The successful candidate will provide essential administrative and legal support, assisting public defenders in managing caseloads, preparing documents, and conducting research to ensure the highest quality representation for our clients. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about justice and looking to gain valuable experience in the legal field from a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist public defenders with case preparation, including organizing files and evidence.
  • Conduct legal research using online databases and other resources.
  • Draft legal documents, correspondence, and reports under supervision.
  • Manage and maintain client files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Schedule appointments, manage calendars, and coordinate meetings.
  • Liaise with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals as required.
  • Process and track case-related information and deadlines.
  • Provide general administrative support to the legal team.
  • Adhere to all ethical guidelines and agency policies regarding client representation and data handling.

Required Skills
