Job Description
Join UPS as a professional Feeder Driver, operating tractor-trailer combinations over long distances to transport freight between UPS facilities. This role is a vital part of our network, ensuring packages move efficiently through our system. You will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of freight, primarily involving no-touch duties, meaning you will not be involved in the physical loading or unloading of packages within the trailer. Key Responsibilities
- Operate tractor-trailer combinations safely and efficiently.
- Transport freight between UPS facilities, adhering to scheduled routes and timelines.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and submit all required paperwork.
- Comply with all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and other team members.
- Ensure the security and integrity of freight during transit.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A).
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to regulations.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with doubles/triples endorsements.
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
