Job Description

Waitrose & Partners is offering an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Artisan Baker / Pastry Prep to join our dedicated team in Yeovil. This is a hands-on learning role where you will gain comprehensive experience in creating high-quality bread and pastries from scratch, under the guidance of our experienced bakers. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with all stages of dough preparation, including mixing, kneading, and fermentation.
- Learn and master various shaping techniques for a wide range of breads, rolls, and pastries.
- Operate and maintain bakery equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Monitor baking processes and temperatures to achieve perfect crusts and textures.
- Prepare and finish pastries, including decorating, glazing, and filling.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to strict food hygiene and safety standards.
- Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and receiving deliveries.
- Learn about different flours, ingredients, and their properties.
- Support the bakery team with daily operations, ensuring timely production and display of baked goods.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
