Job Description

Join our dedicated highway maintenance team as a Traffic Cone Setup Helper. This entry-level role is crucial for ensuring the safety of our crews and the public during roadworks. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient deployment and retrieval of traffic management equipment, primarily traffic cones and barriers, under the guidance of experienced supervisors. This is an outdoor, physically active role, perfect for individuals who are reliable, safety-conscious, and enjoy working as part of a team in the fresh air.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely deploy and retrieve traffic cones, barriers, and other temporary traffic management equipment as directed.
  • Assist senior crew members with setting up and dismantling work zones on highways and local roads.
  • Ensure all equipment is clean, well-maintained, and stored correctly.
  • Actively participate in pre-start safety briefings and adhere to all health and safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
  • Report any hazards or issues to the supervisor promptly.
