Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Telecommunications Tower Engineer to join our dynamic team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute to the design, deployment, and maintenance of our critical telecommunications infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design for new and existing telecommunication towers and their foundations.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments of tower structures, antennas, and associated equipment.
  • Develop and review engineering drawings, specifications, and reports for tower projects.
  • Ensure all designs and installations comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and building codes.
  • Collaborate with project managers, field technicians, and other stakeholders to plan and execute tower upgrades and new builds.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to tower infrastructure.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and field staff.
  • Prepare detailed documentation, including as-built drawings and maintenance logs.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Telecommunications Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in telecommunications tower engineering.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., RISA-3D, tnxTower).
  • Strong understanding of CSA S37-18 or equivalent tower design standards.
  • Demonstrated experience with various tower types (guyed, self-supporting, monopole) and their components.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license or eligibility for registration in Nova Scotia.
  • Experience with RF system design and integration.
  • Project management experience in a telecommunications environment.
  • Knowledge of Canadian building codes and regulations.
