Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to join our growing technology consulting team in Belfast. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the successful planning, execution, and delivery of complex technical projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, project management acumen, and excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple technical projects from inception to completion.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and work breakdown structures.
  • Manage project resources, including technical teams, budgets, and third-party vendors.
  • Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing effective contingency plans.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress, report on status, and ensure adherence to project methodologies and standards.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to evaluate project success and identify lessons learned.
  • Ensure technical solutions meet business requirements and are delivered with high quality.
  • Mentor and guide junior project team members as needed.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager in a software development or IT consulting environment.
  • Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project).
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Solid technical background with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification (e.g., CSM, SAFe).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Master's degree in a relevant technical or business discipline.
  • Experience working within a global consulting firm.
