Job Description
Are you a recent graduate or looking to start your career in professional services? EY is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to join our Assurance team as an Entry-Level State/Provincial Audit Assistant in our Newcastle upon Tyne office. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial auditing, support senior auditors, and contribute to the integrity of financial reporting for a diverse portfolio of clients. You will be an integral part of our team, learning the fundamentals of auditing within a supportive and dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior auditors with audit fieldwork, including testing financial transactions and account balances.
- Prepare working papers and documentation for audit files in accordance with EY methodologies and professional standards.
- Perform analytical procedures to identify potential risks and unusual trends.
- Communicate effectively with client staff to gather necessary information and documentation.
- Participate in client meetings and observe audit processes.
- Learn and apply relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize audit software and technology to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support the team in administrative tasks related to audit engagements.

- An eagerness to pursue professional accounting qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
