Job Description

Starbucks is seeking a Specialty Tea / Coffee Retailer to join our team in a vibrant mall location in Gainesville, Florida. This role is perfect for an enthusiastic individual eager to learn about and share their knowledge of premium beverages. You’ll be responsible for creating an inviting atmosphere, guiding customers through our diverse product offerings, and conducting product tastings to showcase the unique profiles of our coffees and teas. Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers to understand their preferences and recommend specialty coffee and tea products.
  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to Starbucks standards.
  • Conduct engaging product tasting sessions to educate customers on different flavor profiles and brewing methods.
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of all coffee beans, tea leaves, brewing equipment, and merchandise.
  • Process customer transactions accurately using the POS system.
  • Ensure the retail space is clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve concerns with professionalism and a positive attitude.
  • Actively promote new products and special offers.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.

  • Basic math and cash handling abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a retail, food service, or hospitality role.
  • Prior barista or tea specialist experience.
  • Knowledge of various coffee brewing methods and tea preparation techniques.
  • Experience with product demonstrations or tastings.
