Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and technically proficient Specialty Chemical Associate to join our B2B Technical Support team in Pittsburgh. In this role, you will be the primary technical point of contact for our business clients, providing expert advice, troubleshooting assistance, and solutions related to our specialty chemical product lines. This position requires a strong understanding of chemical applications, excellent problem-solving skills, and a customer-centric approach to support the success of our clients and drive product adoption. You will play a crucial role in maintaining strong customer relationships by ensuring their technical needs are met with precision and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and accurate technical support to B2B customers via phone, email, and virtual platforms.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to product application, performance, and compatibility.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and technical training sessions for customers and internal sales teams.
  • Collaborate with R&D and product development teams to provide customer feedback and insights for product improvement.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and FAQs to enhance customer self-service capabilities.
  • Assist in the development of technical service strategies and support materials.
  • Stay current with industry trends, competitor products, and new technologies in specialty chemicals.
  • Visit customer sites as needed for on-site technical support and problem resolution.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a technical support, R&D, or applications role within the chemical industry.
  • Strong understanding of chemical principles, formulations, and application methods.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) for tracking customer interactions.
  • Prior experience in a B2B customer-facing role.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes and analytical techniques.
