Job Description
Join our dynamic team at Purolator as a Shipping Label Printer Assistant. In this essential role, you will be responsible for the efficient and accurate printing and distribution of shipping labels, ensuring packages move smoothly through our logistics network. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be a vital part of our operational success, contributing directly to our commitment to timely and reliable service.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate label printing equipment to produce shipping labels according to daily operational requirements.
- Verify label accuracy against shipping manifests, order details, and destination information.
- Sort and organize printed labels for efficient distribution to various packaging and shipping stations.
- Hand out labels to appropriate personnel, ensuring correct labels are matched with outgoing packages.
- Monitor printer supplies, including paper and toner, and report low stock levels to supervisors.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor issues with label printers.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and company standards.
- Assist with other administrative and operational tasks as needed to support the shipping department.
Required Skills
- Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to operate label printing software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs (11 kg).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or shipping environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or shipping procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
