Job Description

Home Instead is seeking a warm and friendly Senior Companion for a part-time role focused on fostering meaningful connections through coffee, conversation, and shared activities. This unique opportunity is perfect for someone who enjoys spending quality time with seniors, providing companionship and light support in their homes. You’ll be a trusted friend, offering a listening ear, engaging in stimulating discussions, and brightening someone’s day.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engaging companionship through conversation, reading, and shared hobbies.
- Accompany clients on outings such as coffee shops, parks, or community events.
- Assist with light meal preparation and ensure a pleasant dining experience.
- Help with organization and light housekeeping tasks as needed.
- Offer medication reminders (non-administering).
- Report any changes in the client's condition or needs to the supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for the client.
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Genuine empathy and a passion for working with seniors.
- Ability to engage in stimulating conversation.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a companionship, caregiving, or customer service role.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of local San Francisco community resources for seniors.
- Basic computer literacy for scheduling and reporting.
