Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Hardware Store Field Auditor with a strong focus on DIY knowledge to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for conducting on-site audits of Lowe’s retail locations within your designated territory, ensuring compliance with operational standards, merchandising guidelines, and inventory procedures. Your deep understanding of home improvement projects and products will be invaluable in assessing store layouts, product displays, and the overall customer experience from a DIY perspective. This position requires regular travel to various store locations and the ability to work independently to maintain the high standards our customers expect.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive on-site audits of assigned Lowe's retail stores, evaluating operational efficiency, merchandising standards, and adherence to company policies.
- Assess product presentation, stock levels, and shelf integrity, providing actionable feedback to store management.
- Utilize DIY expertise to identify opportunities for improved product placement, signage, and customer educational resources related to common home improvement projects.
- Verify the accuracy of inventory counts and contribute to shrink reduction efforts through diligent auditing practices.
- Document audit findings thoroughly, including photographic evidence, and prepare detailed reports for regional management.
- Collaborate with store teams to implement corrective actions and best practices identified during audits.
- Stay informed on industry trends, new products, and DIY techniques to provide relevant insights during store visits.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and loss prevention standards.
- Provide constructive feedback and training to store associates on merchandising and operational excellence.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (2+ years) in retail operations, merchandising, or auditing, preferably within the home improvement sector.
- Extensive hands-on DIY knowledge and a passion for home improvement projects.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and audit software.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a travel schedule efficiently.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field.
- Experience with inventory management systems and retail POS software.
- Previous experience as a field auditor or quality assurance specialist.
- Certifications in project management or retail operations.
