Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Security Controller to oversee and manage all aspects of security operations within a designated region or site in Canterbury. This pivotal role involves supervising security personnel, responding to incidents, implementing robust security protocols, and maintaining effective communication channels to ensure a safe and secure environment for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise a team of security officers, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
- Develop, implement, and enforce security policies and procedures in line with company standards and client requirements.
- Monitor surveillance systems, access control, and alarm systems proactively to identify and address potential threats.
- Respond effectively and decisively to all security incidents, emergencies, and alarms, coordinating with emergency services and internal stakeholders as necessary.
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend strategic improvements.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of security incidents, patrols, and daily activities for reporting and analysis.
- Liaise professionally with clients, law enforcement, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless and effective security operations.
- Ensure strict compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a security supervisory or management role.
- Valid SIA Licence (Door Supervisor and/or Security Guarding).
- Excellent knowledge of security protocols, procedures, and best practices.
- Strong leadership, team management, and motivational abilities.
- Proficiency in using various security systems and software (CCTV, access control, alarm monitoring).
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm, decisive, and effective under pressure and in emergency situations.
- Valid UK Driving Licence.
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- Demonstrable experience with advanced CCTV monitoring and comprehensive alarm response protocols.
- Relevant security management certifications (e.g., ASIS CPP, Level 3 Security Management).
- In-depth knowledge of local law enforcement procedures and liaising protocols.
