Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles in accordance with all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Transport goods to and from various destinations, ensuring timely delivery.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs and delivery records.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and maintain a clean driving record.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members.
- Ensure the security and safety of cargo during transit.
- Represent J.B. Hunt professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) – Class A preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Clean motor vehicle record (MVR) within company guidelines
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to regulations
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliability and strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a professional driving role (even if minimal)
- Hazmat endorsement
- Tanker endorsement
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
