Job Description
GDI Services Inc. is seeking a dedicated and reliable School Cleaner to join our team in Vaughan, Ontario. This full-time position involves maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe learning environment for students and staff within a local school. The successful candidate will work day shifts, Monday to Friday, playing a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the school. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, ensuring adequate supplies are maintained.
- Empty trash receptacles and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
- Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, tables, and fixtures.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained and stored properly.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and a thorough approach to cleaning.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and equipment (training provided).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a school or commercial cleaning environment.
- Knowledge of WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System).
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
