Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate ICU Registered Nurse to join our critical care team in New Port Richey, Florida. This full-time night shift position offers a significant differential and top-tier compensation for experienced professionals dedicated to providing exceptional care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. As an ICU RN, you will be responsible for the direct and indirect care of critically ill patients, utilizing advanced nursing practices and critical thinking to manage complex conditions and ensure optimal patient outcomes. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, applying evidence-based practices to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Our state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit provides a challenging yet rewarding environment where professional growth and development are highly encouraged.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Monitor and interpret patient vital signs, lab results, and diagnostic tests, initiating appropriate interventions.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
  • Manage complex medical equipment, such as ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring systems, and infusion pumps.
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and modify patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families on conditions, treatments, and recovery plans, providing emotional support.
  • Document all patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner using electronic health records.
  • Participate in emergency response and resuscitation efforts as needed.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Required Skills

  • Current Florida RN license
  • BLS and ACLS certification (AHA accredited)
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an acute care ICU setting
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in administering medications and operating critical care equipment
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to patient safety and quality care

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
  • CCRN certification (Critical Care Registered Nurse)
  • Experience with specialized ICU populations (e.g., neuro, cardiac, trauma)
  • Experience with electronic health record systems (e.g., Meditech, Epic)
