Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Retail Experience Rater to join our dynamic team in Cambridge, MA. This hybrid role involves both fieldwork and office-based reporting, where you will act as a mystery shopper to evaluate and document retail experiences across various brands and industries. Your observations and detailed reports will provide critical insights, helping our clients enhance customer satisfaction and operational excellence. If you have exceptional observational skills, a passion for customer service, and a desire to travel and make an impact, this role is for you. A generous travel stipend will be provided for all fieldwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct discreet and objective mystery shopping visits to diverse retail locations, strictly adhering to project guidelines and client specifications.
- Observe and accurately document all facets of the customer experience, including staff interaction, store cleanliness, product availability, merchandising, and overall service quality.
- Complete comprehensive, unbiased reports and questionnaires promptly and accurately using our proprietary data collection platforms.
- Capture specific details, provide constructive feedback, and identify areas for improvement based on predefined criteria for each assignment.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all project information, client identities, and collected data.
- Adhere to all ethical guidelines and protocols established for market research and mystery shopping activities.
- Manage scheduling and travel logistics efficiently to complete assignments within designated timeframes.
Required Skills
- Exceptional observational skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong written communication skills for clear, concise, and accurate report generation.
- Ability to follow complex instructions and project specifications precisely.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license to travel extensively within Massachusetts.
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
- Basic proficiency with mobile applications and digital tools for data entry and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail, customer service, or a related field, particularly in a role requiring observation or evaluation.
- Familiarity with market research principles or consumer behavior analysis.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
