Job Description
Are you a passionate and aspiring media professional with a keen interest in radio and podcasting? Bell Media is offering an exciting internship opportunity for a Radio & Podcasting Production Intern to join our dynamic team in Victoria, BC. This hands-on role will provide invaluable experience in live on-air production, digital content creation, and the daily operations of a leading broadcast media company. You’ll gain practical skills in audio editing, content research, social media engagement, and assist with various aspects of our radio programs and growing podcast library. This internship is designed for individuals eager to learn and contribute to fast-paced, creative environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist producers and hosts with live on-air show preparation and execution.
- Conduct research for show topics, guest interviews, and segment content.
- Edit audio for radio spots, podcast episodes, and digital content using industry-standard software.
- Support social media initiatives by creating engaging posts and managing online interactions.
- Learn and operate studio equipment under supervision during live broadcasts.
- Contribute creative ideas for new show segments, podcasts, and promotional campaigns.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to production and scheduling.
- Participate in community events and remote broadcasts as needed.
Required Skills
- Strong interest in radio broadcasting, podcasting, and digital media
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in basic audio editing software (e.g., Audacity, GarageBand, Adobe Audition is a plus)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, live production environment
- Basic understanding of social media platforms for content promotion
- Reliable, punctual, and highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a broadcasting, journalism, communications, or related program
- Previous experience (even volunteer or student projects) with radio, podcasting, or media production
- Familiarity with CRTC regulations and broadcast standards
- Creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and local content
