Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Quality Control Inspector to join our Calgary team, focusing specifically on our beauty product lines. As a Quality Control Inspector, you will play a critical role in upholding L’Oréal Canada’s stringent quality standards, ensuring every product that leaves our facility meets our high benchmarks for safety, efficacy, and aesthetic appeal. Your keen eye for detail and commitment to excellence will be vital in maintaining consumer trust and brand reputation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed visual and physical inspections of incoming raw materials, in-process products, and finished beauty products according to established specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct various quality tests and measurements using specialized equipment, accurately recording and interpreting results.
  • Identify and document non-conforming products or materials, initiating appropriate corrective actions and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Maintain precise and thorough documentation of all inspection activities, test results, and quality incidents.
  • Collaborate with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to address quality issues and implement preventive measures.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), company policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of quality control procedures and inspection guidelines.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, actively suggesting enhancements to quality processes.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in quality control or assurance, preferably within the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or food industry.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong observational skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and quality standards.
  • Proficiency in using various measurement tools and inspection equipment.
  • Solid understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality management systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting and collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a scientific or technical field (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Quality Management).
  • Certification in Quality Control (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Inspector).
  • Experience with sensory evaluation of cosmetic products.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for beauty products in Canada.
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) software.
