Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Pumpkin Pickers to join our team for the exciting autumn harvest season. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, are physically fit, and want to be part of a vibrant team bringing joy to thousands of visitors. As a Pumpkin Picker, you will be instrumental in ensuring our pumpkin patches are ready for our renowned Pumpkin Festival, helping to pick and prepare the highest quality pumpkins for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Carefully pick pumpkins from the fields, ensuring minimal damage and optimal quality.
- Efficiently sort and prepare pumpkins for display and sale.
- Operate within health and safety guidelines at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to meet daily picking targets.
- Maintain a tidy and organised work area within the pumpkin fields.
- Assist with other general farm duties as required during the busy autumn period.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliability and punctuality, particularly for early morning shifts.
- Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail to ensure quality control of picked pumpkins.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in farm work, horticulture, or other outdoor manual labour roles.
- Access to own transport due to the farm's rural location (though not strictly essential if public transport allows punctual arrival).
