Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Hotel Porter to join our vibrant team at our Hilton property in Cardiff Bay. This role is crucial for ensuring our guests have a seamless and comfortable experience from the moment they arrive. You will be the face of our hotel, assisting guests with luggage, providing information, and maintaining the cleanliness and order of public areas. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about hospitality, possess a can-do attitude, and enjoy providing exceptional service to a diverse range of guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests upon arrival with a warm welcome and assist with luggage handling and transportation to their rooms.
- Provide comprehensive information about hotel services, facilities, and local Cardiff Bay attractions and amenities.
- Assist guests with special requests, inquiries, and arrange for transportation, ensuring their needs are met promptly and courteously.
- Maintain the cleanliness, tidiness, and security of the hotel lobby, entrance, and other public areas at all times.
- Receive, store, and deliver deliveries and packages efficiently, ensuring they reach the correct departments or guests in a timely manner.
- Support other hotel departments, such as Front Office or Housekeeping, as needed to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Respond to guest feedback and resolve minor issues with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency, escalating complex issues when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and hotel policies.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Strong customer service orientation and a genuine desire to help others.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and move luggage and other items comfortably.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced hotel environment.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Basic computer literacy for handling guest requests and information.
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel, hospitality, or customer service role.
- Knowledge of the local Cardiff Bay area, including popular landmarks, dining, and entertainment options.
- Proficiency in an additional language beyond English is a plus.
- Experience with hotel property management systems (PMS).
