Job Description
Cardinal Health is seeking a diligent and highly responsible individual to join our team as a Pharmaceutical Courier in our secure Arlington, VA facility. This critical, full-time, on-site role is 100% indoor and involves the secure internal transport of high-value pharmaceutical products and sensitive materials within our controlled environments. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity and security of our pharmaceutical inventory, adhering to strict protocols and ensuring precise documentation for all movements. This is not a typical delivery driver position; rather, it is a specialized role focused on internal logistics within a high-security pharmaceutical setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and securely transport pharmaceutical products, samples, and sensitive documents between designated secure areas within the facility.
- Adhere strictly to all established security protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and regulatory guidelines (e.g., DEA, FDA).
- Verify contents and quantities of items being transported against manifest or documentation at both pick-up and drop-off points.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all material movements, ensuring proper chain of custody.
- Operate specialized internal transport equipment (e.g., carts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently, if required.
- Report any discrepancies, security breaches, or unusual occurrences immediately to supervisory personnel.
- Collaborate with inventory, security, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless and compliant operations.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion at all times.
Required Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proven ability to follow strict procedures and adhere to security protocols.
- High level of integrity, trustworthiness, and discretion.
- Physical ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs and to stand/walk for extended periods within a facility.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a security-sensitive role or regulated environment (e.g., pharmaceutical, logistics, manufacturing).
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or secure chain-of-custody procedures.
- Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical product handling best practices.
- High School Diploma or GED; some college coursework preferred.
