Job Description
Sobeys Inc. is seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement / Purchasing Manager to join our team in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. This pivotal role involves overseeing all purchasing activities, optimizing our supply chain, and ensuring cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and implementing procurement strategies, fostering strong vendor relationships, and driving continuous improvement in our purchasing processes. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans and procurement policies.
- Manage and optimize vendor relationships, including negotiation of contracts, terms, and pricing.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and supply chain optimization.
- Lead the purchasing team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical sourcing standards.
- Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and risk management.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand purchasing needs and specifications.
- Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, savings, and key performance indicators.
