Job Description
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Pricing Analyst to join our dynamic team in Cardiff Bay. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing pricing strategies for our diverse product portfolio, primarily focusing on general insurance products. You will leverage large datasets, statistical models, and market insights to optimize pricing, ensuring competitiveness, profitability, and customer fairness. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance pricing models using advanced statistical techniques and software (e.g., Emblem, R, Python).
- Analyze market trends, competitor behavior, and customer data to identify opportunities and risks related to pricing.
- Collaborate with product, marketing, and claims teams to align pricing strategies with business objectives.
- Prepare and present detailed pricing recommendations and insights to senior management.
- Monitor the performance of implemented pricing strategies and adjust as necessary to achieve targets.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal pricing governance policies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of pricing tools, processes, and methodologies.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (2+ years) in a pricing or analytical role, preferably within financial services or insurance.
- Strong proficiency in statistical analysis and data modeling.
- Expertise with pricing software such as Emblem, or statistical languages like R/Python.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex analytical concepts clearly and concisely to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with GI pricing techniques (e.g., GLMs, Machine Learning).
- Knowledge of the UK general insurance market and regulatory landscape.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
