Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and culturally attuned Luxury Brand Translator with a strong focus on fashion to join our remote team. This role is crucial for maintaining the authenticity and prestige of the Louis Vuitton brand across diverse linguistic and cultural landscapes. The ideal candidate will possess an impeccable command of multiple languages (English and at least two other major languages relevant to luxury markets), a deep understanding of fashion terminology, and an acute awareness of brand voice and cultural nuances within the luxury sector. This is a 100% remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to a global icon from anywhere.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate and localize a wide range of luxury fashion content, including marketing materials, website copy, product descriptions, press releases, internal communications, and legal documents.
- Ensure all translations accurately reflect the original meaning, tone, and intent, while maintaining brand voice and adhering to Louis Vuitton's stringent quality standards.
- Conduct thorough research on fashion trends, industry-specific terminology, and cultural nuances to ensure linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, product development, legal, and communication teams to ensure seamless integration of translated content.
- Manage translation memories, glossaries, and style guides to maintain consistency across all translated assets.
- Review and proofread translated content from other translators to guarantee linguistic excellence and error-free delivery.
- Provide linguistic and cultural insights to support global marketing strategies and localized campaigns.
- Adapt content for specific regional markets, taking into account local customs, idioms, and consumer preferences.
Required Skills
- Native-level fluency in English and at least two other major languages (e.g., French, Italian, Mandarin, Japanese, Spanish, German).
- Proven experience as a professional translator, specifically within the luxury fashion or high-end retail sector.
- Exceptional linguistic skills, including impeccable grammar, syntax, and vocabulary in all working languages.
- Deep understanding of luxury brand communication, brand voice, and cultural adaptation.
- Proficiency with CAT tools (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ, Memsource) and translation memory management.
- Strong research skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Fashion Studies, Marketing, or a related field.
- Certification from a recognized translation association (e.g., ATA, ITI).
- Experience with transcreation for luxury brand campaigns.
- Knowledge of SEO localization best practices.
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Jira).
