Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Loading Dock Assistant to join our Charlottetown distribution team. This early morning shift role is perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy finishing their workday by noon. As a Loading Dock Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the efficient movement of goods, ensuring timely loading and unloading, and maintaining a safe and organized work area. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against manifests and packing lists.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks (manual and electric) safely and efficiently.
  • Organize and maintain the cleanliness and order of the loading dock area.
  • Communicate effectively with truck drivers, warehouse staff, and supervisors.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Perform other general warehouse duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects repeatedly (up to 50 lbs).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent punctuality and reliability, especially for early morning shifts.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
  • Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills.
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or loading dock environment.
  • Experience operating power pallet jacks or forklifts (certification a plus).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
