Job Description
Are you passionate about sports and eager to learn the ropes of live television production? Fox Sports Southwest is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Live Sports Camera Operators (Trainee) for weekend matches. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity to gain hands-on experience operating professional broadcast cameras for various live sporting events. You will work closely with experienced camera crews and directors, learning the art of capturing compelling sports action in real-time. This role is perfect for someone looking to start a career in sports broadcasting, with a focus on weekend availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior camera operators in setting up and tearing down camera equipment.
- Learn and apply fundamental camera operation techniques under supervision.
- Operate broadcast cameras during live sports events, focusing on capturing key plays and maintaining optimal framing.
- Follow director's cues and adjust shots accordingly to enhance storytelling.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of camera equipment as needed.
- Ensure all assigned equipment is handled with care and returned in good condition.
- Collaborate effectively with the wider production crew to achieve a seamless broadcast.
Required Skills
- Strong passion for live sports and television production.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure live environment.
- Reliable and punctual, especially for weekend scheduling.
- Eagerness to learn and take direction from experienced professionals.
- Ability to lift and carry camera equipment (up to 30 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
