Job Description

Are you seeking an exciting entry-level opportunity within the public sector? Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Immigration Support Clerk to join our fast-paced team in Mississauga. This role is crucial in providing administrative and clerical support to ensure the smooth processing of immigration applications and inquiries. No prior immigration experience is required; we provide comprehensive training for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and verifying submitted application forms and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Data entry and maintenance of applicant information in secure government databases.
  • Preparing and organizing physical and electronic files for review by immigration officers.
  • Responding to routine inquiries from applicants or their representatives via email or telephone, escalating complex issues as necessary.
  • Assisting with document management, including scanning, filing, and archiving.
  • Coordinating appointments and interviews for applicants with relevant officers.
  • Ensuring compliance with all departmental policies, procedures, and privacy regulations.

Required Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Capacity to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous administrative or clerical experience, ideally in a public sector setting.
  • Familiarity with immigration processes or government regulations.
  • Proficiency in both official languages of Canada (English and French).
  • Post-secondary education in office administration, legal studies, or a related field.
